Boy, have things been changing quickly! Thankfully, our courses carried on throughout the coronavirus lockdowns and provided the comfort of stability, consistency, and community during these changing times. But, for many families, the coronavirus lockdowns have brought with them uncertainty about what the next school year might look like. As a result, according to a recent RealClear Opinion Research poll, 40% of families are "more likely" to homeschool their children after the coronavirus lockdowns end. To help these families, we offer flexible module courses. Read all about all the exciting (and, we pray, helpful) new offerings below.
Module Courses for All Levels
This certainly has been an unprecedented year! When the COVID-19 pandemic forced many Tapestry local co-ops to shut down, the LLC opened our doors and welcomed impacted students into our classes. We have fantastic students and teachers who made them feel right at home. We know there is still uncertainty about what homeschooling might look like in the fall, and we also recognize that many families are considering homeschooling for the first time. We want to help! So, we're offering dozens of 2- to 12-week module courses for all learning levels. These mod courses allow your family the greatest flexibility to explore how your next school year will take shape. Check out these new mods HERE.
Literature Analysis Writing Modules
We've added several literature analysis writing modules for rhetoric students. These short modules pair well with traditional literature courses and allow students to write about the books they are studying, under the guidance of our master writing teachers. These modules include: Poetry Analysis Essay Writing, Personal Response to Literature Essay Writing, and Literary Analysis Research Paper Writing & Multi-Media Presentation.
Traditional Courses for Non-Integrated Families
While we are passionate about the integrated model of education, we realize that model isn't a good fit for every family. Perhaps you plan to use dual enrollment for your high schooler's last year and don't want to study history all four years. Maybe you are new to homeschooling and need to pick up where your student left off at public school. We also offer stand-alone history, literature, writing, science, and elective courses that allow your students to read great books and receive a deep understanding of the material from a biblical worldview without the parallel studies requirements of integrated courses.
Science Courses
We are excited to offer a full range of science courses. This year, we are hosting the following science courses:
Lower Grammar Jr. Coding
Upper Grammar Chemistry & Physics
Upper Grammar Fun with Coding
Dialectic General Science
Dialectic Exploring Coding
Rhetoric Biology
Rhetoric Chemistry
We plan to expand our offerings each school year, so your student can take the science courses they need and love all the way through graduation.
Tapestry of Grace Courses
In addition to our integrated history, literature, and writing courses based on the award-winning Tapestry of Grace homeschool curriculum, we now offer a full range of rhetoric-level Tapestrycourses for all year plans. These budget-friendly discussion courses meet bi-weekly throughout the school year, making them more affordable for your family.
Rhetoric Worldview
Rhetoric Fine Arts
Rhetoric Philosophy
Rhetoric Government
Vocabulary From Classical Roots
We now offer Vocabulary From Classical Roots courses starting at the upper grammar level all the way through high school. These full-year courses meet bi-weekly to equip students to determine unknown word meanings using Greek and Latin roots. This knowledge increases student vocabulary and reading comprehension, provides students with a useful, transferable technique for making sense of unfamiliar vocabulary across content areas, and prepares students for standardized tests including the SAT and ACT. Our plan is to fill out our offerings in coming school years by adding Vocabulary From Classical Roots 5, 6, B, and D, providing courses for every learning level.
